The Learn Through Stories Foundation (accessible from learnthroughstories.org), hereby known as LeTS, is a not-for-profit organization focussed on child and young-adult education through collaborative storytelling. We help children become co-authors and co-illustrators along with experienced design professionals.

This document states the terms and conditions and the privacy policies for visitors to our website, as well as users of our mobile application (LeTS ReadAloud) available on the Google PlayStore. This document itself is available on the website at learnthroughstories.org/terms_privacy.html. The text of this document may change as we introduce new interactive functionality, but the changes will be entirely within the spirit of this document. Donation Refund Policy

LeTS endeavours to ensure fair and transparent processing of requests for refund of donations. LeTS expects that all donors will exercise due care and diligence while making donations. LeTS also recognises that a donation may be made erroneously or donors may change their minds.

LeTS will examine each request for refund of donation and strive to make the refund. LeTS may also seek further information / documents and the donor must co-operate in this regard.

However, LeTS is not obliged to make refunds and may, in its discretion, decline any requests for refund of donations, particularly if a tax exemption certificate has been issued.

If you would like your donation to LeTS to be refunded, please request a refund in writing or by email. This request (with all relevant details such as name, transaction id, donation amount, cheque number, date, etc) much reach LeTS within 15 days of:


Privacy

We value the privacy of all visitors -- children and adults -- to the website, and of the users in all the mobile applications developed by us (LeTS ReadAloud). By using our website and our mobile apps, you hereby consent to the following Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.

This Privacy Policy applies only to our online/mobile app activities. It is not applicable to any information collected offline or other channels.

Children's rights

The content on this site and on our apps is child-appropriate by its very design and intent, since it is stories by children for children. The site and the apps do not collect any information about any children.

Information we collect

LeTS collects some information about website visitors, as is standard procedure for all web hosting companies, to inform their analytics. The information collected include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

In cases where the website visitor is asked for personal information (such as tax-specific information for donation to the Foundation), we will make clear the reasons for that request at that point.

If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.

We do not collect any information from users of the LeTS ReadAloud mobile application.

How we use your information

We use the information collected above in various ways, including to:

We do not use any advertising services, or use 3rd party libraries that do either.

CCPA Privacy Rights (Do Not Sell My Personal Information)

We do not collect any individual user's data, except when solicited explicitly as explained above. We do not share this data with anyone else. If that user wishes us to remove any such data, we will remove it within a month of an explicit email. If we are unable to do so for legal reasons (such as donation details for which we may be required to keep tax records), we will explain our reasons for retaining only as much data as is strictly necessary.

We would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to request copies of your personal data.

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that we complete the information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure – You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
